Marjorie Kaufman on location in Iceland

Armed with a BA in Economics and Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, Marjorie began her career on Wall Street with Bankers Trust and Prudential-Bache, working on M&A transactions, ESOP LBOs and closed-end fund IPOs. She later moved into senior marketing and investor relations roles at Seligman, Kingdon Capital, Guggenheim and Barington Capital. In 2010 Hedge Fund Journal named Marjorie Kaufman one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds.

Marjorie began her photographic journey at New York’s International Center of Photography in 2011. Published work includes the books “White Sands” and “Iceland in August” and articles in Le Courrier and the Tico Times.  Her photo essay on civil war veteran Joe Wheeler may be found here,  and her work on environmental pollution in the Long Island Sound here.

In 2020, Marjorie’s image “The Blue Room” received an award from the NY Center for Photographic Art as part of their Patterns and Shadows exhibit.

Marjorie’s recent projects have focused on wild horses in the Camargue region of France, portraiture in San Miguel de Allende, and abstract images from the magical sand dunes of White Sands, NM

In addition to photography, Marjorie enjoys skiing, golf, gardening and traveling with her family.
