Armed with a BA in Economics and Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, Marjorie began her career on Wall Street with Bankers Trust, working on M&A transactions and ESOP LBOs. Several years later she was put in charge of closed-end fund IPOs at Prudential-Bache. By 2000, she was Senior Vice President at J&W Seligman, a $20 billion asset management firm, responsible for new product development and institutional marketing. During her three years at Seligman, Marjorie Kaufman worked with noted portfolio manager Paul Wick to launch Seligman Tech Spectrum, the firm’s first hedge fund which eventually grew to $2 billion in assets.

In 2003, Marjorie was recruited by a prominent multi-billion dollar global hedge fund in New York as Head of Marketing and Investor Relations. Over a seven year period she raised $5 billion from a broad spectrum of global institutional investors. Hedge Fund Journal named Marjorie Kaufman one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds for 2010.

In 2011, Marjorie Kaufman enrolled at New York’s International Center of Photography and subsequently published two collections of photographic images, “(Un)Natural Elements By the Sound” and “Iceland in August”. Her work can be viewed online at http://www.marjoriekaufman.com

Currently, Marjorie Kaufman is a Managing Director with Guggenheim Global Trading, a hedge fund unit of Guggenheim Partners.

In addition to photography, Marjorie enjoys skiing, golfing, gardening and traveling with her family, as well as raising a flock of chickens in her backyard. She supports educational endeavors for students with low incomes through her work with the Young Women’s Leadership Network, which manages two education-centered programs, The Young Women’s Leadership Schools and the College Bound Initiative. These programs help young people with economic challenges break the cycle of poverty through college readiness and college access programs.

Marjorie was recently appointed Chair of the Hilltop Cares Foundation, a group of Horace Mann alumni, parents and students which provides support for survivors of sexual abuse. She is also active with 100 Women in Hedge Funds, High Water Women, UJA and the Association for Corporate Growth.
